There aren’t many conferences I get excited about, but one that gets me all crazy has to be TribeCon: the Official Conference of Voodoo Music Experience. It’s a conference filled with awesome people doing great things for the world; these are the people I call the real superstars. Prepare to be inspired by the great mix of people coming down to New Orleans from all over the world in order to speak on building online communities.
One speaker I’m beyond thrilled to see is Baratunde Thurston. He is the web editor for The Onion and co-founder of Jack and Jill Politics. The uber-cool Micki Krimmel will also grace the stage. She is the founder of NeighborGoods.net, which is an online community where you can earn and save money by sharing with your neighbors. One local favorite of mine at Tribecon is Patrick Comer, CEO of Federated Sample, a New Orleans-based company that focuses on automation to online sampling.
