Are you new to the area? A local tired of the same drab meet-and-greets? Concerned by the slow recovery underway in certain areas around town? Finished with your own renovations, but interested in helping others in need? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then HandsOn New Orleans has just the project to help you get off the bench and into the game.
Our Teamworks program is a great new way to help meet community needs and new people. This program brings teams of volunteers together in a service competition offering BIG prizes for the victors and hope to those we serve.
Teams consist of 8 to 12 individuals who participate in projects posted on the HandsOn New Orleans project calendar. Service projects may include serving meals at a local homeless shelter, repairing homes, maintaining a community garden or supporting other non-profits in service.
Once teams are registered, we’ll host a pep rally to introduce the teams and lay down the rules of engagement. Following the competition, we’ll reassemble for a recognition ceremony to celebrate personal and team accomplishments, and award the top prize to our winning team.
Register as an individual or team today by contacting Teamworks Coordinator Elizabeth McFadden at emcfadden@handsonneworleans.org.
Hurry…the competition starts July 6 and ends August 10.
