Actor Wendell Pierce peered into the crowd at today's ceremony marking the start of rebuilding of the historic Pontchartrain Park golf course, and pledged to see them "on the first tee at that 7 o'clock call."
Pierce, a native son of Pontchartrain Park who has used his stage and screen celebrity to spearhead redevelopment efforts in the Katrina-battered neighborhood, ushered in the start of work on the Joseph Bartholomew Sr. Municipal Golf Course, which sits in the middle of Pontchartrain Park.
