One of pop music’s unsung heroes, Wardell Quezergue will make a rare appearance on Sunday at Alice Tully Hall in New York City at a concert in his honor. Part of the Ponderosa Stomp @ Lincoln Center series, “A Tribute to Wardell Quezergue” will feature performances by the Dixie Cups, Dr. John, Jean Knight, Tammy Lynn (who will be speaking at the Wall Street Journal’s Summer Scoops Live series tonight), Dorothy Moore, Robert Parker—all of whom scored major hits with Quezergue, who’ll conduct his 10-piece Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
