Voodoo Blues Krewe kicks off big week of blues at Big Al's Saloon

In 2007, a group of local blues fans learned that Wichita, Kan.; Walla Walla, Wash.; and even Moscow had blues societies, but New Orleans did not. So they contacted the Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tenn., and formed an affiliated nonprofit, the Voodoo Blues Krewe, aka the New Orleans Blues Society.
