J.M. Smucker subsidiary Folgers Coffee Co. will invest $69 million in Orleans and St. Tammany parishes and hire 120 new workers, bringing total employment to 570, Gov. Bobby Jindal announced today.
After J.M. Smucker Co.’s acquisition of Folgers, Louisiana Economic Development department officials approached the company in an effort to retain 450 existing jobs at the 50-year-old New Orleans facilities at Old Gentilly Road and Chef Menteur Highway and at a Folgers distribution site in Lacombe.
