On March 19, 2010, The Green Project will host Salvations 2010, its third
annual furniture competition and fundraiser. Salvations will be held from 7 pm to 10 pm
at The Shops at Canal Place, 333 Canal St, New Orleans.
Fifteen profession and amateur furniture designers have designed handcrafted furniture and lighting pieces, now on display at the Shops at Canal Place. All of these eclectic and creative pieces are composed of 90% found or reused materials, including materials salvaged from historic homes and automobiles. These one-of-a-kind creations will be judged by an expert panel composed of Miranda Lash, curator of the New Orleans Museum of Art; Brad Guy founder of the Building Materials Resource Center and Asa Christiana, editor of Fine Woodworking Magazine. Outstanding furniture submissions will receive cash prizes, and all pieces will be auctioned off to benefit The Green Project.
