JUST SAY YAYA

YA/YA's annual art showcase and fundraiser is just one week away!

In addition to great food, music, company, and FABULOUS ART FOR SALE,
this year's Just Say YAYA event will pay tribute to the coastal parishes
struggling to hold onto their way of life during the oil spill tragedy.
We will be painting hand-cut wooden pelicans on-site, to raise awareness
and funds for those most affected by the spill. In addition, our
recently completed Plaquemines Parish Mural will be on display, in
preparation for delivery to parish President Billy Nungesser. The mural
is the final installment in our Coming Home Series sponsored by Shell
Oil.

YA/YA is a non-profit organization that trains New Orleans high school
students to become artists, entrepreneurs, and role models in their
families and communities. In addition to our intensive studio training
program, we reach some 700 New Orleans youth each year through in-school
workshops and community outreach. Our annual Just Say YA/YA showcase and
fundraiser is a major entrepreneurial opportunity for our core artists,
as well as an important source of community support for our year-round
programs.

main event! Together we can empower ever more creative young New
Orleanians to turn their passions into professions!
