I lived the secret life at least for a moment! I attended the Secret Sherry Society at Tales of the Cocktail. The Secret Sherry Society travels across the coast, throwing secret cocktail parties and fashion shows. Each city they dedicate one style of Sherry to the location. In New Orleans, the Sherry of choice was Oloroso in a Jerezhatten cocktail; which was paired with some yummy gumbo and salad! New Orleans locals and tourists, love the sherry!!!!
Quick Tip: Authentic Sherry wines can only come from Jerez, a town in Spain.
The Sherry Council also announced the U.S. National finals for the Copa Jerez wine and food pairing competition, being held in New York City on October 6th, 2010. Chef and sommelier teams are invited to compete. Panel will judge entries, which will compete in Spain against 8 other countries. For more information contact nalhonte@clsdc.com
