Hotel Monteleone prepares for the Red Dress Run and Dirty Linen Night with Dirt Cheap, Red Hot Rates

New Orleans, LA (August 3, 2010)—Craving for a vacation but don’t have the time to leave the city? The Hotel Monteleone is offering a “staycation” opportunity for the weekend of August 13-15 to help New Orleanians celebrate the famed Red Dress Run and Dirty Linen Night in style.  Ring in this fun-filled weekend with amazing rates and great drink specials to last through the festivities.

The Hotel is offering nightly red hot rates at a price of only $99 based on a 2 night minimum stay.  And to make the evening hotter, the famous Carousel Bar located on the first floor of the Hotel Monteleone will have Dirty Martini drink specials lasting through the weekend.

The Red Dress Run, brought to the City of New Orleans by the New Orleans Hash House Harriers, a self-proclaimed “Drinking Club with a Running Problem”, is an event that invites men and women from around the country to get dressed up in their best looking red dresses and make their way across the streets of the French Quarter, with a few stops along the way to make sure that the runners stay hydrated. However, the event is not just an excuse for individuals to dress up in goofy outfits and drink the day or night away. The event begins at Washington Square in the Marigny at 9:00am and costs $60 in advance with a majority of the proceeds benefitting 30 different local organizations. 

Started in 2001, Dirty Linen Night began as a response to the more elegant White Linen Night and occurs annually the following weekend.  Participants donned in their best attire will be able to weave their way through the many art stores in the French Quarter, meeting and greeting other art enthusiasts while taking in a variety of artistic styles. The event takes place at more than 60 galleries sprawled across Royal Street, Jackson Square and Dutch Alley on August 14 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
