Last week, I had a chance to attend Women and Wine on Wednesdays here in New Orleans. It was absolutely a great event and a cool idea to promote networking among women. Not only did I get a chance to experience a new restaurant (Sante Fe) over wine, but to meet new women from various backgrounds.
Women & Wine was created by Linda Brewster in 2005 in New Orleans as a way to help the great ladies of our city improve lifestyle balance by re-connecting friends and creating opportunities to meet new ones. Over the years, the event grew and has expanded to cities around the country.
What makes their events so phenomenal is the concept, Women Bingo! It consists of facilitated icebreakers, which once you arrive each lady is given a card with 16 questions that they must collect answers from at least 16 women at the event. Some questions from the card include Last Book You Read? and Who is your Hero(ione)? To make it a little more exciting, the winner wins a bottle of wine.
