Jazz band brings New Orleans sound to Harrisburg

A distinct sound often heard in New Orleans’ historic French Quarter comes from a band that embodies the legacy of American jazz as an art form.
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, named after a renowned music venue in the heart of the ‘Big Easy,’ is traveling to the midstate Wednesday, bringing with them an eclectic mix of harmonies reminiscent of the traditional, Dixieland jazz for which New Orleans has become known for.
