Is there a better comfort food than a good ol’ po-boy? I like that chewy French bread tucked full of fried—fried green tomatoes, fried oysters, fried shrimp—then slapped with spicy remoulade. If your heart beats for po-boys, this Sunday is your lucky day. The 2010 Po-Boy Fest is being held November 14, at the corner of S. Carrollton Avenue and Oak Street in Uptown.
PBF2010 isn’t just about food, though there are over 30 vendors. including Boucherie, Bourbon House, Dante’s Kitchen, Emeril’s Delmonico, Gattuso’s, Parkway Bakery & Tavern, Pascal’s Manale, and Sammy’s Deli on Elysian Fields. Po-boy it up with sandwiches that range from fried bread pudding po-boys to smoked duck po-boys with citrus jalapeno marmalade. Stick around to see who wins the contests for best po-boys!
And don’t forget the art and crafts, and games, along with what makes a NOLA festival a NOLA festival: music.
