NATCHEZ Steamboat Collects ‘Bucks for Clucks’ During November for Second Harvest

From November 1 to the 24, the NATCHEZ Steamboat is collecting “Bucks for Clucks,” monetary donations to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank to help families in need of food assistance during the holiday season.

Cruise goers can purchase a paper turkey and autograph it with a minimum $1 donation. All of the turkeys will be featured on the NATCHEZ dock at the corner of Toulouse Street and the Mississippi River. The New Orleans Steamboat Company, owners of the NATCHEZ, will present Second Harvest Food Bank with a check at the end of the fundraiser.

“As we start gearing up for the holiday season and giving thanks for our blessings, it’s important to remember the people in our community who are in need of the bare necessities,” said Gordon Stevens, president and CEO of the New Orleans Steamboat Company. “We want to do our part to give back to the community and invite our customers to help us fight hunger in New Orleans as a small donation can go a long way.”

People can make donations at the NATCHEZ lighthouse ticket office or kiosks located in the French Market, World Trade Center, Jackson Brewery and on Decatur Street near the Hard Rock Café entrance as well as at concierge desks in participating hotels.
