The Historic New Orleans Collection’s fall concert series concludes on Friday, November 19, with a performance by Paul Sanchez and selections from NOLA Brewing Co.
The winner of three 2010 Best of the Beat Awards, Paul Sanchez has recently recorded with fellow New Orleanians John Boutté and Shamarr Allen. He is known throughout the area as a successful roots-rock solo artist and was one of the founding members of the band Cowboy Mouth. In addition to his work as a singer/songwriter, Sanchez is also a published author. His first book, Pieces of Me, began as a series of blogs chronicling his return to New Orleans after Katrina and evolved into a collection of essays about life, music and love in the new New Orleans. For the November 19 event, Sanchez will be joined by Matt Perrine (tuba), Alex McMurray (guitar) and Sonia Tetlow (mandolin, banjo and guitar).
NOLA Brewing Co. was launched in 2008 by local entrepreneur Kirk Coco and Peter Caddoo, a former brewmaster at Dixie Beer. Formally known as the New Orleans Lager & Ale Brewing Company, the enterprise offers blonde and brown ales, as well as “Hopitoulas” (an India Pale Ale) and additional seasonal varieties.
Admission to the concert—$10 for the public, free for members of The Collection—includes three complimentary cocktails. Household memberships begin at $35 per household and are valid for one year. Guests must be 21 or over. For more information, call (504) 523-4662 or visit www.hnoc.org.
