The wailing notes of the sax lifted from Royal Street to my window at the Hotel Monteleone in the New Orleans French Quarter on Tuesday. I paused as I put on my suede coat to go walking and tossed a purple, red, black and white scarf around my neck.
It seemed appropriate to be colorful in New Orleans — although purple, yellow and green for Mardi Gras might have been perfect. They're already gearing up for parades.
In Jackson, you had more snow last week. Sorry.
