Will New Orleans be the New Musical Capital of the World?

On Friday in New Orleans at the outset of the annual Jazz and Heritage Festival, Lieutenant Governor Mitchell J. Landrieu held a roundtable discussion featuring insightful panelists including Grammy winners Irma Thomas, Terrance Blanchard and Terrence Simien.
Landrieu’s central question for the panel concerned how and why New Orleans and Louisiana have failed to capitalize on their unique culture, music and art, and also why other outside entities have been able to do so.
