We all love New Orleans and the richness of our culture. So many great things going on in the city!!! Right now there are plenty volunteer projects to get involved with in New Orleans to do your part. Just putting in a few hours of work can do exceptional things to help out organizations as well as our city. Take June as an opportunity to try out some volunteer projects. Find some of your favorite causes and get involved.
Volunteer Opportunities
- For anyone wanting to do immediate volunteer work: Second Harvest Food Bank is packing food boxed for fisherman. You can volunteer on these days: Tues 5/25 1pm - 4pm; Thurs 5/27 9am-12pm and 1pm - 4pm. Call 729-2834 first and speak to Melanie.
- Volunteer with Rebuilding Together
- Help out at the New Orleans Women's Shelter
- Check out the cool opportunities at HandsOn New Orleans
- Opportunities at Volunteers of America
- Help out with some cool projects at The Green Project
- Get involved with projects at the Common Ground Relief
- Check out and volunteer at this new very cool building space at Lower 9th Ward Village
- Help build a home with Habitat for Humanity
- Tell the stories of the animals with the Audubon Nature Institute
- Help enhance the educational experience with New Orleans Outreach
- Help the homeless with UNITY of Greater New Orleans
- Help out with one of my favorite projects! Start The Adventure In Reading
