LA Swift, the bus program created for New Orleans residents who were displaced to the Baton Rouge area after Hurricane Katrina, will be financed for another year without state tax money and including a new stop in Kenner, Department of Transportation and Development officials said Friday.
Jodi Conachen, the agency's chief spokeswoman, said federal money is being used to support the program, plus a $5 per-trip fare. The program's budget is about $2.4 million this year, up slightly from the $2.35 million last year, she said.
