One thing is for sure about New Orleans, we like our cold beverages. When I first moved to town, I was amazed at the cocktail culture. The Sazarac, Pimm’s Cup, Hurricane, Hand Grenade, Daiquiri, and even the Drive-Through Daiquiri– these are standards in New Orleans culture. Even beer has local strength in numbers: Abita has several great options (and Abita’s Brewery is located just a jump across Lake Pontchartrain), and our very own New Orleans Lager and Ale (NOLA) Brewing Company has taps in many local bars, and a free tour at their headquarters on Tchoupitoulas Street at 2 p.m. on Fridays.
