Trombone Shorty wants his audiences to get up and dance.
That's exactly what he has planned for his headlining performance Friday's at Fort Worth's Jazz by the Boulevard festival, which runs through Saturday.
"People used to ask us what type of music we're playing. We put everything into one pot. It's basically like a musical gumbo," says the fast-rising star of supafunkrock, the name he coined for his special brand of music. "It's high-energy funk-rock music, and it has spices of different things in that. It's like representative of New Orleans."
