A simple thank you is not enough. In America, we honor our war veterans each year with their own special day.
On Veterans Day 2010, New Orleans showed it hasn't forgotten those who learned first hand the price of freedom isn't free.
"On this Veterans Day, pay our tribute to those who fought and died in the incomprehensible slaughter of all wars," said World War II veteran J.J. Witmeyer.
Thursday morning, current and former military men and women gathered next to the Vietnam Veterans memorial in front of the Superdome.
