After Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans funk band Water Seed took refuge in the city of Atlanta and they have been spreading their brand of New Orleans funk around the world ever since. The Future Funk Stars return home for a very special night celebrating the release of their latest follow-up to their 2008 debut, "Early for the Future."

Infused with elements of soul, R&B and even a little hip hop, New Orleans "future funk" band Water Seed has been making some serious waves in Atlanta, where most of the group now splits there time, among several other cities nationwide and overseas, thanks in part to rave reviews on respected music sites such as AOL's City Best, Soultracks and Culture Mob. After a recent three-month tour of Russia and China, as well as lots of attention from Sony Records, Water Seed settled down to record their 1st full length studio effort “Fresh.” Water Seed has been compared to the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Sly & the Family Stone and Prince. Surrounded by amazing special effects and dressed in over the top costumes, Water Seed gives a show like no other. The “Fresh” CD release concert will be filled with energy that only a New Orleans artist can bring to the stage.

Special guests performing at the release party include Clarence Johnson III, Bionica, Desmond “Black Moses” Venable and DJ Dynamite Dave Soul.
