On Tuesday Dec. 7, 2010 New Orleans Saints Super bowl Champion Robert Meachem will team up with a local Wal-Mart to kick-off the Robert Meachem/7th Ward Neighborhood Center 2010 Christmas Toy Drive.
The Wal-Mart Supercenter: Connection Center located at 8843 Veteran Memorial Blvd will host a special autograph session sponsored by Break Thru Media Magazine to encourage community to donate an unwrapped gift for a child between the ages of 5-15.

Who Dat? You Best Believe…We Dat!
My heart pumped through my chest as I took a knee and said the Lord’s prayer on a 4th and 2 that would risk it all on Sunday. The Who Dat Nation sat on pins and needles while the Saints somehow pulled of another win. Your nerves get rattled and your blood pressure raises from start to end.
The Saints have put everything on the table……we have played like champs but we have also shown weaknesses. We have been beaten by bad teams and put a W in the column against good teams. They have had to battle injuries, penalties, tough breaks, and a division rival that just won’t lay down.
The term “any given Sunday” holds true in football. You never know what will happen. While there is no mathematical equation to winning it all, there is a semi-secret formula: Finish Strong + Luck = Success. It’s no coincidence that the formula to the Saints’ success is also their motto. We have to be more efficient in the red zone, we have to finish the season strong to go 13 – 3, and we must remember the mantra: Win or Go Home.
If you aren’t from New Orleans, you will never understand. The Saints are not just a football team to us. They are not just a bunch of guys who we root for or jersey’s we wear. They are our Saints, our boys, and our hopes and dreams rest on their shoulders. The NFL tries to explain it by painting a post Katrina utopia, the media uses the phrase “the city that care forgot”, and the bandwagon fans love to ride our coat tails. But to be a true Saints fan, you must sit on the edge of your chair biting your nails, you must have an arsenal of cuss words ready to shoot off, you must cry when the unbelievable happens, but most of all you must have faith.
That’s why when everyone doubts us…..we still say Bless You Boys. When the analyst don’t pick up……we shout Who Dat ever harder, and our pride has turned from asking Who Dat to answering We Dat. Now that we've had a taste of victory we won’t go down without a fight. You can laugh at us all you want to put please believe…We Dat Team To Beat!

Citizens of the Who Dat Nation may have to wait another month or so to get the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl license tags, state officials said Friday.
Office of Motor Vehicles spokeswoman Michelle Rayburn said Saints officials have approved the redesign of the speciality plate in the past two days after rejecting the first design several weeks ago. The approved version, in black and gold, includes the team's signature fleur de lis and the words World Champions incorporated with the Super Bowl XLIV logo across the bottom.

The Saints are drawing bigger television audiences to the NFL than any team has in history. It seems like every time they play a vitally important game to their season, or the NFL season in general, they break some sort of ratings record.
This was once again true in their huge season opener against the Vikings on September 9. The Saints and Vikings had the highest TV ratings of any NFL season opener in history. Not to mention it had 27.5 million viewers. It broke multiple records such as being the most watched NFL prime time regular season game ever broadcasted on NBC.

5 Things New Orleanians Don’t Want To Hear or See During Saints Game
Let me paint a picture for you: It’s about a minute until kickoff. You’re sitting around the television draped in black and gold getting pumped up for the game. Right when the music cues: BAM! Pictures of Katrina, a mention about how the city is rebuilding and someone that knows nothing about New Orleans talking about our city.

I don’t know about you but I deflate after that. It really grinds my gears. Can’t we just overlook all that stuff and play football? Must we be viewed as a charity case every time we play a game? I can only imagine some PR person in a staff meeting going “Hey for the New Orleans games let’s make sure we get some aerial shots of the Superdome during Katrina, put a plate of Crawfish Étouffée in the shot, and get some guys playing that Zydeco thing…..Oh and reference the Oil Spill at least twice”.
Here is my list of five things that New Orleanians don’t want to hear during a Saints Game:
5. The “Stand Up And Get Crunk” Song: If I hear that song one more time…I WILL SCREAM! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the Ying Yang twins. The song brought us all the way to the Superbowl but who ordained that song to be our theme song for another season. They play it at the beginning/end of every game, at every commercial, even during field goals.
4. Catch Phrases That No One In The City Uses: Ever walked up to somebody and said: "Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez", “Can I Get Some Lagniappe” or “Welcome To The Big Easy”? Yea me neither.

If you’re looking for an unbiased pre-game review before each Saints game then you’ve come to the wrong place. There are plenty of places, people, and websites that will tell you how both sides of the ball look. Not here. I’m not a sport writer and this is not a sports column. I am an avid Saints fan and intense Saints tweeter (see: Twitter) during the game. Week by week, I’ll give you a bias look at why the Saints are the best team in the NFL (win or lose).
Just Play Ball
If I read one more article about how the Vikings “claim” that our defense was too hard on Favre I’ll blow a gasket. Even Favre himself said “It’s just football”. The Superbowl was on the line which means endorsements, contracts, money, etc. If the Vikings defense had the chance to pound Drew Brees into the ground I’m sure they would not have hesitated.
Big props to Greg Williams (that guy punches concrete blocks for fun and eats nails for breakfast) on standing behind his players aggressiveness. On more than one occasion Williams told reporters that he wants the Saints defense to instill fear in their opponents. Something we’ve never heard from a Saints defensive coordinator in the past.
United Way Celebrates the Saints and Raises Money for Oil Spill Relief

Friday, August 27th, New Orleans locals and Superbowl Champions alike came together to celebrate the Saints, the city and a good cause. Whiskey Blue presented the United Way Game Night After Party hosted by none other than Darren Sharper and Roman Harper. The party helped raise awareness about the importance of the community working together and helping those affected by the Gulf Coast Oil Spill. Helping to celebrate the cause, players such as Jeremy Shockey, Pierre Thomas, Jonathan Vilma were on hand to show their love for this city and importance of community building and advocacy.
More than $10,000 was raised for United Way of Greater New Orleans, which will go to continuing help for those affected by the oil spill and provide access to information and resources.
United Way of Greater New Orleans works to deliver programs and services that target community needs and provide building blocks for a good life, which include education, sufficient income, sound mental and physical health and a safety net in time of crises. United Way for the Greater New Orleans area serves Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington parishes. Amir Douglas woke Saturday at 9 a.m. Within minutes he had spray-painted his face gold. He then slipped into football shoulder pads and a black Darren Sharper jersey and set out with his dad to the Superdome to watch the Saints play the Houston Texans.

The Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works unanimously approved House Bill 1165 by Rep. Jeff Arnold, D-Algiers, to create the tags, sending it to the full House for debate.
Saints lobbyist Randy Haynie said the franchise and the National Football League have had input on the bill to clear the way for the possible use of team and league logos to avert legal problems.

As if losing the big game wasn't tough enough, Indianapolis Colts fans soon will have to endure the embarrassment of a black and gold New Orleans Saints flag flying in their state capital.
Gov. Bobby Jindal bet Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels that the Saints would win Sunday's Super Bowl contest, which they did 31-17. It was a straight up wager, with no point spread. Now it's pay-up time.

The city of the Saints is filling up with ex-New Orleanians and others ahead of the Super Bowl, many looking to cast off a legacy of football futility and natural disaster -- others just looking to party down in one of the world's greatest party towns.
"We're gearing up for Sunday just like Mardi Gras day," said Earl Bernhardt, a bar owner in the French Quarter. "We're staffing just like we do for Mardi Gras, and if the Saints win, we won't close at all. We'll stay open as long as people are standing."
